Meet Our Creative Team

Gerry Durnell

The original ‘Paper Architect’. Gerry is the managing partner of Centennial Graphics Group and Automobile Heritage Publishing and Communications LLC and the editor and publisher of its flagship periodical, Automobile Quarterly. His participation as concours judge and his unfettered enthusiasm have lent much to the continued legacy of the combined worlds of art and the automobile. A self-proclaimed “master tinkerer” and a lifelong worker of words, he has been a disc jockey, photographer, army aviator, state representative, inventor, show promoter, land developer and highly successful publisher in many fields.

Frank Grummich

Younger brother Frank was born in 1950, also in Judenburg. He grew up in Cincinnati, and in 1972, he studied bookbinding in Vienna, Austria. He returned to the US as a master bookbinder with Cincinnati Bindery. Frank worked in every position at the bindery from the ground up, finally rising to the level of vice president. This quiet craftsman anchors our commitment to handcrafted excellence. When not working, Frank enjoys playing golf and cooking. He excels in both avocations. He is married to Kelly and has two stepdaughters, Amber and Leah.

John Durnell

When not mapping a print production schedule or designing a marketing plan for the latest project, you can find him sketching concept drawings or making prototypes for the next great product idea. John is currently Chief Operating Officer for Centennial Graphics Group. John joined his father, Gerry, as a ‘Paper Architect’ in 2000. Prior to that venture, John served as the Operations Manager for a class III critical medical device company in Golden, Colorado. That experience enabled a full spectrum of manufacturing technology and quality system integration.

In 1996, John founded ProMark, a marketing and manufacturing company based around a unique licensed product. 14 years later, ProMark is one of the larger automotive licensees in the nation with hundreds of licenses including the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR and multiple colleges and universities. The core ProMark product line has grown to thousands of SKUs and its product footprint has further expanded by managing the licensing requirements for other companies. As a result of the success of ProMark, John was recognized as one of 60 international members to YEO, Young Entrepreneurs’ Organization, (the preeminent affinity group for young entrepreneurs) in conjunction with the MIT Enterprise Forum, and Inc. Magazine.

John graduated in 1990 from Purdue University with an undergraduate degree in industrial design and completed MBA studies at University of Denver and University of Phoenix. John is a member of MENSA-North America, Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), and a Member of Theta Tau (A National, Professional Engineering Fraternity).
